ABOUT US

What Makes CoveredGround Tours Unique

CoveredGround Tours is a tour company founded by Colter Jones in 2021 with a goal to provide the most EPIC experiences for our guests. Based in Cody, Wyoming, we’ll leave you at the end of the day feeling like you ‘saw it all’ and earned an enlightening experience. We aim to wow and satisfy your hunger to see the nation’s most awe-inspiring landscapes in the highest and best way. People often ask us if it ever gets old seeing the same sights and the answer is ‘NO!’ Taking you to see them for the first time is like us seeing it for the first time all over again. We love your excitement and teaching you about these wondrous places!

While we specialize in Environmental Education tours of Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Park, we also offer private and multi-day tours of the surrounding areas in greater Wyoming, including the Bighorn mountains, Beartooth mountains and Black Hills, South Dakota (Mt. Rushmore). We’re a hands-on tour company, so we don’t just take you to the sights and drop you off with a time to come back to the van. Instead, we get out and walk and share the experience with you while packing the conversation with loads of information and good times.

Licensed by the National Park Service, we provide knowledgeable and expert
guides. Let us do the driving. We offer hotel pickup or will meet you at a specified
meeting point then provide a comfortable, entertaining experience while you sit
back to take in the sights. We truly want you and your group to have the most unforgettable experience on our national park or road-trip tours. You will not forget your time touring with us!

Our Yellowstone Tours:

Yellowstone National Park spans over 3,400 square miles. It is the heart of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem (GYE) and there is A LOT to experience including: hydrothermal features, thermophiles, the Yellowstone supervolcano, geology, ecology, flora and fauna and so much more. While spotting wildlife always comes with an element of chance, we frequently see grizzly bears, black bears, bison, bighorn sheep, elk, wolves, moose, golden eagles and so much more in this awe-inspiring land.

Our average tour in Yellowstone is about 12 hours and covers 256 miles of driving so it is tough to ‘go it alone’; putting your day in the hands of our expert guides will leave you with more knowledge than you could glean from travel guides or wayside signs.

We seriously cover some ground, and part of providing a full experience is answering your questions and educating you along the way.

Come see the largest in-tact ecosystem on earth! Simply put, we’re the best way to experience Yellowstone National Park.
